Andrew began his career as a lawyer in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1993, he joined Nixon Peabody LLP as a litigation associate.  In 1999, he was elected to capital partner and practiced in Nixon Peabody’s Litigation and Products Liability Groups.  In 2008, Andrew and Jill Schultz formed Burns & Schultz LLP.

Andrew has extensive experience handling a variety of challenging legal matters involving commercial and contract disputes, bodily injury litigation, mass and toxic torts, labor and employment litigation, and numerous other types of cases.  He served as national counsel for a Fortune 500 company involved in asbestos personal injury litigation.  He is an experienced strategist and negotiator in complex litigation matters.

Andrew recently mediated and settled a single plaintiff sexual harassment claim for One Million dollars.

Andrew is actively involved in the Monroe County Bar Association, having served two years as Chair of the Ethics Committee.  He is also a Member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.

He is a member of the Leadership Rochester Class of 1999 and received the Rochester Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award in 2001.

Andrew received his J.D. degree from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1988, and his B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University in 1985.  He is licensed to practice law in New York, Missouri, Illinois, all Federal District Courts in New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.  He has been admitted to practice law pro hac vice in numerous State and Federal Courts throughout the United States.

Andrew is a Member of Oak Hill Country Club.  He volunteers as a Coach for Perinton Youth Hockey and Pittsford Little League.
