Jill K. Schultz
Jill began her law career over twenty years ago with Nixon Peabody LLP. In 1999, she was elected to capital partner and practiced in Nixon Peabody’s Litigation and Labor and Employee Benefits Practice Groups. In 2008, Jill and Andrew Burns formed Burns & Schultz LLP.
Jill is experienced in civil litigation matters, with an emphasis on labor and employment law. She regularly appears in Federal and State courts, the State Division of Human Rights, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Jill is a Past President of the Monroe County Bar Association (2006 – 2007). She is recognized as an outstanding lawyer by New York Super Lawyers Magazine. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association, a fellow of the New York Bar Foundation, a member of the Monroe County Bar Association, The Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys, a past member of the board of directors of the Foundation of the Monroe County Bar Association, and a past officer of the Legal Aid Society. She was a member of the Leadership Rochester Class of 1999 and received the Rochester Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award in 2000.
Jill received her J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University in 1987, and her B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1984 (Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa). She is admitted to practice law in New York, Connecticut, the Western and Northern Districts of New York, the District of Connecticut, the Eastern District of Michigan, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Sixth Circuit, and before the United States Supreme Court.
