Steven G. Carling
Steve has several years of experience representing and advising companies and schools regarding all aspects of labor and employment law. He has counseled clients about employment rights, policies and individual employee decisions. He has also successfully represented numerous clients in state and federal courts of law as well as administrative proceedings, mediations, and school discipline cases. At Burns & Schultz LLP, Steve has successfully represented individual employees in their claims of employment discrimination, wrongful termination, and overtime and wage discrimination and payment violations.
Steve is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association. Steve works often with the Volunteer Legal Services Program providing representation and advice to indigent clients who are seeking help with custody and divorce matters. He has been recognized for his contribution to
pro bono legal services in The Daily Record.
Steve received his J.D. from William & Mary School of Law in 2003 and his B.A. from Union College in 1997. He is licensed to practice law in New York, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Western and Northern Districts of New York. He has also been admitted to practice law
pro hac vice in several federal courts outside of New York. Prior to joining Burns and Schultz, Steve worked for Nixon Peabody LLP and Harter Secrest and Emery LLP.
Steve is an alumni representative for both William & Mary and Union College. He is also member of the board of directors for Medical Motor Service.
